Arizona Advanced Surgery Center: Arriving At The Surgery Center

The physicians and staff at Arizona Advanced Surgery Center are committed to providing quality care. Your comfort and care are our top priorities

If you have any questions or concerns before your surgery, please ask our nurse or physician.

A nurse may need to shave the area of your operation and/or the physician may mark areas of your body before surgery.

Expect Double Checking...Before surgery, your nurse or anesthesiologist will greet you and ask you some of the same questions you were asked in the preparation area.  This is done to double check information and make sure conditions are right for your surgery.  This double checking is routine and does not mean there is a problem.

You will also meet your anesthesiologist just before surgery.  He/She will talk with you about your anesthesia and answer any of your questions.

At the appropriate time, a nurse or anesthesiologist will escort you to the operating room. After surgery, the doctor will let your escort know that surgery is over and answer any questions they may have.

When you leave for surgery, your family and friends will remain in the Surgical Waiting Room.  It is important to have at least one family member or friend stay in the waiting area while you are in surgery.  A parent or guardian is required to stay in the waiting area if your child is 18 years or younger.
